Tennessee Walking Horse

An American Tradition

client: Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitor’s Association | published: 2010

Originally bred as a smooth-riding utility animal in the hills and hollows of Middle Tennessee, the Tennessee Walking Horse, a uniquely American breed, has captured the hearts and imaginations of horse lovers the world over.  Commissioned by the breed’s registry organization, the Grandin Hood team traveled to horse farms, show rings, and riding trails from Florida to California to create TENNESSEE WALKING HORSE: An American Tradition.  The resulting edition is a pictorial celebration of the breed’s history and a tribute to Walking Horse owners and their devotion to the horse.

“The breathtaking photos of renowned photographers Michael Gomez and Pulitzer Prize winner Robin Hood have rewarded Walking Horse owners worldwide with a lasting and celebrated tribute to the breed and provided TWHBEA with a highly effective fundraiser.”
